Your loss of proprietory rights
Dear Boerum Genforum Readers,
The recent announcement of the combining (sale) of the Genealogy.com enterprise to Ancestry.com and its super-structures, should alert each of us to the commercial benefits of our respective studies. If you are a serious researcher with intensions to publish, you must now be especially on guard to protect that which is yours.
These corporate entities are determined to make money from your research. Your "sharing" will make you feel good in the immediate, but will surely hurt you in the end.
From this point forward, I would ask you to share your research personally and privately, from individual to individual.
Otherwise, what you have worked hard to determine will soon be obliterated. Worse, it will pay out to numbers of investors who have, actually, made no investment at all.
