I have seen Emma Tettaton listed as the wife of Ulysses Boicourt while others list Stella Shaw as his wife.
I believe Stella Shaw was the adopted daughter of Walter P. and Angie Shaw of Montgomery County, MO per the 1910 census who had also adopted my grandmother, Blanche Shaw Payne.
The 6 June 1962 MO death certificate for Stella Boicourt says she is a widow and lists her husband as Ulysses, deceased. It also says she was born in Nebraska as does the 1910 Montgomery, MO census for Stella Shaw.
The 1940 census shows a Ulysses Boicourt,70, b. IL,living in Callaway County, MO with wife Stella, 47, Daughter Elva, 17 and son, Arvel, 15. The 1930 census shows the same family living in Pike County, MO.The 1920 Montgomery, MO census lists Ulysses, 50, wife, Emma, 28, born in Nebraska.
There is an 8 Dec 1906 Macon, MO marriage record for an Ulysses Boicourt and a Fuda Shopper, but could not find Ulysses in the 1910 census. An Ancestry Family Tree gives a marriage to a Sarah Lowery with a daughter born in 1902.
Emma (Tettaton)Boicourt is listed as the wife of Ulysses on his 8 Dec 1940 MO death certificate. It appears that Stella Shaw and Emma Tettaton are the same person. Does anyone have any proof of this connection?Where did the name "Tettaton" come from?
