Re: Definition of Blue Bolling
JoAn, I'm sorry that a question directed to me caused you frustration. Please rest assured that those you call "the chosen few" are powerless to alter or erase truth. If you are indeed a descendant of the Indian Princess, no one on this earth has the power to make it not so.If you are not, even the testimony of a beloved grandfather cannot make it so.
You seem, after the passage of years, to be stuck on the idea that those whose research contradicts your beliefs (a) deny your existence and (b) owe you an alternate family tree.JoAn, (a) is absurd and (b) falls in the category of free lunches, of which there are none.
Suppose you're a student of George Washington.I come along and claim, on the basis of what my grandfather told me, that I'm really a direct descendant of our first president. You tell me that your research suggests I'm in error. Are you telling me I don't exist?Am I entitled to demand that you tell me who my ggggggrandfather was if he wasn't George?
You're entitled to believe anything you want JoAn.But it doesn't seem right to claim that those whose opinions differ from yours are stupid enough to deny your existence and somehow obligated to solve your family history puzzles for you.It wouldn't seem right to you either if the shoe were on the other foot.Fred
