Our book may be of some help to you.We have a James TerBush, born between 1778 and 1781 in Dutchess Co., NY.
Our last record of him was from the 1855 census, when he was living in Cairo, Greene Co., NY, with wife SALLY, where he had lived for 34 years.
We show 5 children that we believe were his.One son, Cornelius, moved to WINDHAM, BRADFORD DO.,PA about 1850, where he died on May 4, 1868.
Unfortunately, we don't have any record of who James' parents were, so we were not able to connect him to our ancestor Jan Bosch.
However, Jan's son Johannes TerBos was thought to be the first white settler in Dutchess Co., and all of the Terbushes, TerBushes, Turbushes, TerBosses seem to have descended from him and from that area. Also, many later dropped the Ter.
