Bosse family in Quebec and New York
I am searching for the exact birth date, birth place, parents, and family origins of Edward Boesse ( born ca. Sept., 1842 ) and his probable brother, Oscar P. Boesse ( born ca. 1848-51 ). They lived most of their adult lives in Berlin, N.Y. Edward used to travel to Canada, ( possibly to Quebec ) to visit his family. His father was said to have been born in France. If he was indeed from Quebec, his surname could possibly have started out as Bosse. In 1870, his surname was spelled on census recoeds as Bosey. In 1880, it was Bossie. Then it morphed into Boesse and pretty much stayed that way. Edward and Oscar Boesse seemed to havecome from nowhere. They could not be found in American census records in the 1850 and 1860 census records, until they just showed up in Berlin, N.Y. census records in 1870. Can anyone connect them up to the Bosse families in Quebec? Any help would be very much appreciated.
