Bosse s from South Africa

I dont have much information but i know my grandfathers name was Charlie Bosse from the Aliwal North area in South Africa ,now Charlie is short for something,but what?there were two brothers who had a fall out and changed their names in court,if anyone has any info on this story ,please respond
