I ran across a mortgage deed and 2 warranty deeds from a sale of property in Morrilton, AR by my great grandfather, Mike Yanker, to JW Bostian in 1899. Found the docs in Conway County Courthouse. Thought they might be of interest here:
13 Nov 1899 - Sold property to JW Bostian for $200 and took back the mortgage. I have copies of both warranty and mortgage deeds. 2 warranty deeds recorded, one for North west quarter and one for north east quarter. Legal descripton of property sold: north half of the north west quarter of Sec 33and all that part of the north half of southwest quarter of the north west quarter of sec 33. Township 7, north of range 16. 104 acres more or less.(this isn't an exact transcription because all 3 of the deeds are slightly different) 21 Dec 1900 - Mortgage was satisfied in full for property sale from Nov 1899. Mike signed in the margin of the record book This property looks like it is located around where the northeast finger of Lake Overcup now is. Looking up the legal description here (Sec 33, twp 7, range 16) http://www.actdatascout.com/default.aspx?CI=6&SS=33-07-16&SI=5http://www.actdatascout.com/default.aspx?CI=6&SS=33-07-16&SI=5, the roads listed are Overcup Lake Rd, Campground, Goodman, Merryman, etc. I just noticed on the map too that Overcup Lake Rd turns into Bostian Ln.
