Evidently there are at least two females in the BOSTOCK line living in the Tom`s River, Ocean Co NJ area.
You might file these for future reference during your research.
BOSTOCK, Helen M. born 29 JUL 1915died 25 APR 1997. BOSTOCK, Frances E.born 18 OCT 1925died 17 JUL 1994.
There was a white pages listing for Judith A. [Judy] BOSTOCK in the Tom`s River township, Ocean Co NJ but later she is in Hazlet township NJ.
Considering you are having a hard time nailing down a paper trail on your Thomas J. SR it might be possible he was in the merchant marines during the 1930`s and 1940`s before he settled down to family life.No proof just a thought since I have seen some records of one Thomas BOSTOCK working on trawlers as part of the crew. There is no birthdate on the manifests but his age average for 1911-1915.
We do know of no WW2 Draft Registration for a Thomas J. BOSTOCK in what records that are currently available.
As far as his SSA data you may want to get a copy of his application for social security card while residing and working in New York.
If his card is good with information it will help you to compare it to city directories as to job location and to whom the parents were and if he was married at the time of this application.
Also it would be a good idea to find out if he was a registered voter which the card or cards would show whom were registered to vote at the residence in question. This would be a great tool for NY and NJ.
If you do not live in the area you should contact the local librarian in the area to see if there is a list of volunteers who can be helpful to you.
