4.Marie [in some accounts, Marie Genevieve; in other accounts, it is noted that she was christened Marie Jane] Bottineau (born on September 18, 1842 in St. Paul, Minnesota; baptized on September 25, 1842, in Saint Pierre and St. Paul Chapels, Minnesota, with Charles Bottineau, Jr. and Marguerite Larance as godparents; died in June of 1894 in Boise, Idaho) married Robert Charles McDonald on March 2, 1858.Robert Charles McDonald and Marie Bottineau McDonald lived in North Dakota where her husband, a scotchman, was a mail carrier out of Fort Totten, North Dakota.Robert Charles McDonald was scalped by warring Indians........
Marie Bottineau McDonald and Robert Charles McDonald had:
a.Louise [in some accounts, Mary Louise] McDonald married Victor Shepherd, and they were living in the Canal Zone ...... in 1933.
b. Mamie [in some accounts Jemimah] McDonald.
c. Jennie [or Jenny] McDonald.
d. Julie McDonald (born on February 19, 1867; baptized on May 5, 1867 in Osseo, Minnesota, with Pierre Bottineau and Mithilde Gervais as godparents).
After the death of Robert Charles McDonald, Marie Bottineau married Captain Ernest W. Brenner (son of Christian and Christina Brenner) in 1872, in Belcourt, North Dakota, Turtle Mountain Agency.Ernest W. Brenner was an Indian Farmer.Ernest W. Brenner and Marie Bottineau had two daughters:
e. Christine Brenner (born in Belcourt, Dakota Territory) Married Alexander Charlebois [in some accounts Charleboix] circa 1897.
f. one other daughter.
Of all of Marie Bottineau’s daughters, two of these daughters were known to be dead by 1937.
