Hi Jane,

You'll find there are a bunch of us buried round these parts. My memory isn't all that long, but I can dredge up some...our end of the clan hailed from about 8 miles in on the Moro Road in Smyrna Mills. The eldest I recall was Grammy Gram, who gave birth to great uncle Charlie, and Fielder Henry Botting, my grandfather. I noted below that some one said there were three Fielder's..well, there were four. Fielder ran a dairy farm for years, on which I toiled one long summer, then he sold to a son who piddled it away. Some corporation bought it, and built , by local standards, a 'mansion' on the place, for Executive retreats and such I suppose. Anyway, Fielder and my Grandmother, Florence, gave birth to Owen, Ronald and Neal, my father. When Florence found him catting around, she divorced him. (Yup, they did that back then.) He there-upon married the cat, Gladys, the live in maid from Canada. They had Leon, Dale, and a daughter Kathleen. This is where it gets wild. Owen settled in Island Falls, where he had a BUNCH of kids...lemme see here...there was Keith, Tammy, mmmm, I'm old, but there were seven in all. Most of em are still there. Ronald had a daughter by a wife whom I did not know, the daughter either for that matter, and is recently deceased. My father married Betty Rickards, and in the course of a few years (starting in 1952) they gave birth to me, and my sisters Wanda and Judy. I in turn married Christine Morton from Oakfield, and had Anthony, Sheena, and Lysa. Anthony is a dealer in Tunica Miss.,(Gambling, not that other stuff) Sheena is a house wife in Tupelo, and we lost Lysa to a violent death when she was 16. Leon , the worlds greatest reprobate, married Judy (nother Judy..we're not THAT bad!) and they had a pastle of kids...Leon Jr. (Tinker to all) Brent, Marcy, who was a downs child, and two other daughters, whom as I recall were both beauties, but the names escape me. Oh wait. there was Lorrie..and....nope, not gonna come. Dale, deceased in Ct on a motorcycle, married Chris, and they had 2 sons and a daughter...Dale Jr., hmmmmmm, and Deana. Kathleen gave birth to two handsome devils, and I've been up too long, can't remember their names. What I do remember is that they moved to Houlton, and when I was a police officer there, one brother was my first arrest, and the other was my last, prior to going to the border patrol. Maybe we ARE that bad!!! MIKE and MARK!!!! Just came to me. Now, go waaayyy back up to the top, and you will see Charlie, you know, brother to Fielder # 4? Anyway, Charlie had Frazier for sure, but any other offspring Im not sure of. Charlie had Charlie Junior, who married ANOTHER Judy, and they had a bunch of Kids, One of whom is Julie Bergon (sp), who's a Maine State Police Officer. She had a brother whom I remember from my youth..if I hadn't been up for 30 hours I could probably recall his name...who drowned when young. Lord, whom have I missed? As a Fed I travel a lot...I have run into and met Botting's as far away as San Bernardino and Tucson, to John Botting, a retired homicide detective from Memphis. My sisters...oh yes. Wanda has a daughter whom she had to part with at a young age and has since reconciled with, and two sons...yup I am tired..can't remember those boys names. Wait...Anthony and Christopher...I'll get there.Judy has a daughter and a son , Mark and Becky, by her husband Mark Nightengale. They live in a camp on Drews Lake in New Limerick, Maine...actually my father lives there too..in the town, not the lake, last I heard. We're not close. My mother, bless her heart, is now living in high cotton with her boyfriend in North Port Florida...no more snow banks for her, no sirree bob. SHE knows ALL this stuff...if ya need it, e-mail me and I'll get you in touch with her. I'm not on my terminal and Im not sure I can remember the address right now...lucky I can remember my name. Double shifts will do that to ya.....yawwwwnnn!!!!! Sooo...you've drained an old, tired, somewhat giddy person of all he has...and it wasn't much, because names and dates seem to get all jumbly of late..know the feeling? Good luck on your search. Your Humble Sv't, E. Botting, D.O.N.M. (Doctor of Not Much, case you were wondering.)
