Here is my theory on on A.B. Botts. Im very interested in your thoughts...
In a nutshell, he was born in Tennessee. He lived in/ around Alexandria, DeKalb Co., TN.. Some time after the 1850 Census he moved to Jackson County, Tn, served as a 1st Lt, in the 8th TN Infantry and returned. He later worked in the court system as Clerk and Master, he also married his 2nd? Wife, Nancy Davidson, in Jackson County (Abt 1850). Some time before 1858, A.B and Nancy moved to Tomkinsville, KY, where he was a Judge / Atty. In 1870 he's listed as head of household with no appearentfamily. Sometime after he possibly married Mollie J. _____, who made a claim for his military pension for service during the Mexican war.

Clipping:
William H. Botts left Alexandria many years ago for Gainesboro, Tennessee, where he practiced law; from there to Glasgow, Kentucky. Here he again practiced with Fesler, who is also a Tennessean. He was elected Lt. Gov. at the same time his partner was elected Governor. They were both raised in Tennessee. He has made a vast fortune and is very rich------has one brother near Alexandria, John Botts.
A.B. Botts left Alexandria for Gainesboro and thence to Glasgow, Kentucky, many years ago. He was a soldier under Gen. Scott in the Mexican War and was J.P. DeKalb Co. for a long time. He died several years ago.
