Nathaniel Bourchier
Looking for information on Nathaniel Bourchier (wife possibly Jane)- and sons James (b. 1796) and brother Nathaniel (b. 1798). Both brothers were born in Old Charlton, Kent, and the family later moved to London (Marylebone area/Oxford Street).
James Bourchier married Elizabeth Arnold (b. Mitton, Salop) on 16 November 1817 in St Marylebone parish church (opposite Regents Park), they then moved to Lambeth. Nathaniel Bourchier was a witness on the marriage certificate. James Bourchier was listed as a Wax Chandler in the census records from 1841. From old adverts in The Times dated from 1812, it appears that at one time 'Mr Bourchier' (presumably his father Nathaniel, there seem to be no other Bourchiers in this line of business) had premises in King Street Holborn and also later in Oxford Street. It seems that James continued in the same trade but moved to Lambeth. The premises were advertised for let in 1829/30 by Mr Bourchier (possibly Nathaniel retired at about that time).
James Bourchier's daughter Mary Ann Bourchier marriedThomas Taylor in Kennington, Lambeth, Surrey in 1839. James and wife Elizabeth were in Lambeth in the 1841/51/61 census records (although mis-spelt). His daughter Mary Ann and husband Thomas Taylor later moved and settled in the Bristol area, where Thomas was manager of a blue dye works.
I have not been able to establish which Bourchier line Nathaniel and James are descended from, or where Nathaniel lived before Old Charlton, Kent at the end of the 18th century. Any information would be gratefully received.
