In the 1812 census for the District of Little Bras d'or, Cape Breton there is a John Young living in the french village (the lower part of Petit Bras d'or?). John is 25 years old, indicates that he is from Newfoundland and that his parents are from France. He is married with 2 children.
Also listed in the same census is Frederick Boutilier, whom, as I understand it, relocated from the Lunenburg area with his brother John about 1806. Frederick Nicolas Boutilier, b. about 1754, m. Anna Barbara Hirtle, b.in 1758, were married on 27 Jul 1779 in Zion Lutheran Church in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. I have found a WEBSITE that indicates that Frederick and Barbara had a family of 13 children, of which there were 2 daughters with the 2nd name of Catherine and one with the 1st name of Catherine. ???????
