Newfoundland Bouzane family
Well where do I start. You all have some part of the story. Let me try to fill you in on what way passed on to me.
I am a sixth generation decendant of the Nfld. Bouzane (Bouzan)family. My grandfather Bernard Bouzane from Little Bay Nfld., passed on the story to us as follows.
During the French revolution Thomas (we believe his name was)De LaBouzan from Brittany France, a prominant Baron and land owner, feared for the lives of his family. He had three of his sons shipped of for fear of their lives. Each has money sown into their clothing to help secure their future, and each put on seperate ships. One ship landed in Ireland, one in the south seas, and the third in Newfoundland.
The son that landed in Newfoundland settled in St. Johns and in turn had three sons. The first son stayed in eastern Nfld. the second traveled to western Nfld and the third, went to Little Bay and St. Patricks areas.,outside Springdale. (my branch of the family).
Tom is the most prominant first name. Bernards fathers' name was Tom, his fathers' name was Tom.
We need to find out the names of the three sons born in St. John's and which son went where.
So we may all sourced back to the De LaBouzan family in Brittany!
Has anyone gone back farther?
Other than that, nice to meet you cousin!
