Hi Joseph,
I'm not a descendant, but have followed this family from McMinn Co., TN. Christopher and half brother Francis Marion Bower sons of Hosea H. Bower. Your ancestor from #1 wife Sulina Hood and Christopher from #2 wife Anna Honey. My interest is in the Honey family.
It appears to me Hosea took his family north after the 1860 McMinn Co.,TN census to escape the coming war there. He did serve as private in Co. C, 17th Reg't Ohio Inf. and filed for a pension on that service 19 Dec 1879 probably in Johnson Co., IN where he was living in 1880.
I was trying to track all the children and grandchildren of the Rev. War Vet, John A. Honey.Hosea's #2 wife Anna Honey was a daughter of Sarah Honey, daughter of John A. Honey.
If you'd like further info, I'd be glad to share what I've found.
