Winnie, I just reread your posting and thought I'd share some info. I don't know if it will help, but ...
I've been researching my eka, who was said to have been Giles Bowers, who married Mary "Rebecca" Giles, b 1810 SC.
The only Rebecca Giles who seems to fit this description was the d/o Othniel Giles, who was married to Rebecca Perry, possible d/o Joseph Perry and Ann Stevens. I believe Rebecca Perry's sister also was married to Drayton of Drayton Hall.
Othniel, b 1754 St. Philip's Parish, Charleston, SC, also was married to Lady Jane Colleton, nee Mutter, formerly of Devonshire, England. He also had an association with a Russell family and is mentioned in the will of Alexander Russell.
