I also have a biography on Charles W. Bowman from "History of Custer County, Nebraska" which gives quite a bit of family information.Unfortunately, it's not on the Internet.When I get some time, I will copy the text and post it to this forum.

I have found the family goes back to Greene County, Pennsylvania (from "1880 History of Keokuk County Iowa", biography of William Bowman - Albert's brother).They relocated to Ashland county, Ohio late 1829 or early 1830.I'm not sure when the family went to Iowa; however, William first went there in 1845, returned to Ohio in 1847, and then settled in Iowa for good in 1850.

Here is a descendent report from Albert Bowman to my grandmother's generation.It was generated from Family TreeMaker and the superscripts are embedded in the names.Unfortunately, there is no way to make it look nice in plain text.Many of the dates came from old papers I found from my grandmother (Mary Ann Bowman) when she was doing a bit of genealogy research, so they may not be accurate.
