Regarding George Bowman who married Mary Ann Jones:
He isn't in Preble Co OH on the 1820 census. Instead, he is
still in Switzerland Co IN, listed on p278:
George Bowman 1 M 16-26, 1 F 16-26
[George 22, Mary 20]
Next door to George is:
John Bowman 1 M 16-18,1 M 16-26, 1 M 45+, 1 F 16-26, 1 F 45+
It looks like John could be George's father, or possibly
his much older brother.
Also on this page is Eliakim Jones, whom I believe to be
Mary Ann's father.
George + Mary are my ancestors.
I'm toying with the theory that George 1798 was a son of
John 1770, rather than of Henry who was John's father.
Henry would have been pretty old in 1798.
There are three Henry Bowmans over 45 on the 1800 census in
York Co PA. One has no sons, one has a son 10-16, and one
has two sons under 10. Has anyone figured out which Henry
is which?
