James Bowser of Nansemond Co. Virginia

I am seeking information on a James Bowser who owned a plantation in the Nansemond County/Suffolk, Virginia area about the time of the American Revolutionary war.It is said he gave some of his land to a black man who fought in the revolutionary war with George Washington when the war ended.
