The document says John Jones. If John Andrew Jones was born about 1806, he would have been too young to be in the War of 1812, wouldn't he?
Also, it says this John served from Tennessee, not Kentucky.
I've seen references to William Andrew Jones serving as a captain in the militia in Kentucky during the War of 1812.
By 1854, Rebecca had been widowed for about 13-14 years, hadn't she?And John Andrew had moved to Arkansas and died by the 1850 census, if I'm correct.
If the land was granted in 1854 and Rebecca shows up in the 1860 census of Pike County, AR, she didn't get very attached to the land, did she?
If she had land in Pontotoc, and if her husband had been buried there, and John Andrew was gone too, and considering her age .....why would she move to Arkansas?
And why to Pike County?
