Please do not believe everything you read on ClanBoyd.com.They have the lines of John and Jane LNU Boyd of Union Co., SC intertwined with John and Jane Bernadoe Boyd of Newberry Co.
I have done extensive research on these lines.Jane from Union Co. died prior to 1825 when her son, David L.(no proof his name was Leslie) died in Anderson Co.Jane Bernadoe Boyd died in 1835 in Newberry Co per her estate file.John of Union died in 1815 and left a will with that date.John of Newberry died in 1802 per his estate file. Why the myth that these two were one and the same presist behooves me.I have tried for years to explain that they are not.If no one believes me they need to go to both Union Co. and Newberry Co and do their own research. It is as plain as night and day.A man cannot die in 1802 and sign his will in 1815.Nor could a son die in 1825 and state in his estate papers "monies recieved from my mother's estate."David Boyd's will was never microfilmed so you will have to go to the SC archives to see or obtain a copy of the estate. The myth obviously began with the DAR file of some woman who did not do her research properly.
Thank you,
