Phyllis,
I am SO EXCITED! My father told me stories of "Unlce Ode" as he called him. You have WAY much more information than me; for I have been tracing John's granddaughter Mamie Passons until only recently. My Dad thought John's wife, Mary R was Cherokee, but that is only family tradition. I know she and John are buried in Hazel Green. I have pictures of their tombstones as well as their daughter Lizzie and Uncle Odie's. Yes I would love to hear about the others.
My connection is through John & Mary's daughter Elizabeth"Lizzie" Boyett. Elizabeth married John Wesley Passons Feb 7, 1887. My great-grandmother was their daughter Mamie Passons. Mamie married three times and out lived them all. My line is through her first husband, William "Dee" Bunn. He died when my grandfather was only about 5 or 6 years old, but I have never been able to find out how. His "death certificate" is only where the family was sold the casket. We even have a couple of pictures of Mamie, though they are not as good as I would like.
I would LOVE to have copies of what you have on the Boyett family and would GLADLY pay you for copies and postage. Please contact me at [email protected]. It is my work email as I do not have one at home. So, I only get my messages Mon - Fri.
