CSA Grave Marker Project for Boyett Father and Two Sons
To All Thomas Boyett Family Descendants:
I have finally located the grave sites of John Ashley Boyett and his two oldest sons who were all buried in the Hollywood Confederate Cemetery section in Richmond City, Virginia during the Civil War. Ashley's two sons died there in 1863 and their father died there in 1865 in the same hospital, the CSA Jackson Hospital.
I have learned from friends in Richmond that we can have bronze markers cast and placed at their numbered graves so their names will be remembered for $100.00 apiece or a total of $300.00.
Our Boyett family in America began with Thomas Boyett born about 1665 in Ireland. He married Rebecca in 1685 after emigrating to America as a young man.
I am seeking Boyett family descendant's financial support to pay for the three Boyett family grave markers. I will do the work to get the markers made and installed through a couple of willing friends in Richmond if you will help me with the cost.
Please contact me at e-mail [email protected] and I will give you my mailing address so that you can send your donations to me. Mary Elizabeth Boyett-Barrs was the youngest daughter of John Ashley Boyett and was my Great Grandmother. She and I were born on March 11th, she in 1857 and I in 1939. Great Great Grandfather John Ashley Boyett's wife and their third son who was also in the Richmond hospital with his father in 1865 died in 1925 in Taylor County, FL and is buried in the Day, Lafayette County, Florida cemetery near my Great Grandmother Mary Elizabeth Barrs and one of her older sisters who married a Rogers.
You help is appreciated. I am 72 years of age and would like to get this project completed as quickly as possible because no one knows what the future holds. Bless you!
