Boyett family line Germany, N.c., Texas
My husband's name is Charles Hopton Bettencourt. His grandfather on his mothers side was Charles Hopton Standifer and his grandfather my husband greatgreatgrandfather was Charles Hopton Boyett. I show this line because the Charles Hopton was pasted down.I hit a brick wall with Charles Hopton Boyett. I knew he was born July 8, 1826 and married Lucretta Flowers May 6, 1847 Raleigh, N.C. shortly after they moved to Tippah Co. Miss. were I found them in the 1850 census. I found them in the 1860 census in Burleson Co. Texas were there was a Nathan Boyett Living there also. Charles's daughter Louvina married John Standifer there in 1871 By the 1880 Charles and his daughters family moved to Nolan Co. Texas. I believed Nathan Boyett in Burleson Co, Tx. was Charles's brother or cousin. So I found a David Boyetts web site that had Nathan Boyett family tree. Nathan, Nathan, Moses, Thomas, Thomas, Thomas Boyett. It had land records from 1754 and 1763 Johnston and Wayne Co. N.C.showing a Charles Hopton had land next to Thomas Boyet and this proved to me that they are our family line. I also found in the 1800 census in Wayne Co. N.C. a Charles Hopton lived next to Shadrack Boyett. In David Boyett's web site he has DNA test showing where the Boyetts came from. The DYS repeats 24/10 are found throughout Europe and repeats 23/10 are slightly higher in S.E. Germany and into Austria. This also proves the word of mouth past down in our Boyett family that the Boyetts came from the Black Forest in Germany near the France border. So the Boyett left Germany to come to America in the early 1600's. Here's my email address [email protected] Would love to hear from the anyone that could add more to this message.
