VirJean, am most interested in your Andrew Reed, as I think he might be the son of Wm. Reed, Sr. , b. ca. 1700 of Chester Co., PA and Orange Co., NC. This man and his second (?) wife Elizabeth Sharp Douglas had a son Andrew Corbin/Corban Reed born shortly after their marriage in 1748 in Chester Co., PA. In 1752 they went to Orange Co., NC where Wm. Reed was fairly prominent in local affairs. At the time of his death in 1764 (no probate records) Wm. Reed, Jr., whom we believe to be another son, was appointed guardian of Andrew Corbin Reed. About 1785 some of this family moved into East TN, from there to MO about 1798. Wm., Sr. may have had other sons named Daniel, Joseph, John, Robert, and Nathaniel, possibly others.Any evidence of your Andrew using the middle name of Corbin/Corban? There is currently a DNA project underway on descendants of some of the above Reed men. Contact me if you're interested in participating in the project.
