OBIT: Lorene Bradley Charles 1912-2006
MOREHEAD----LORENE BRADLEY CHARLES, age 94, of McBrayer Road, Clearfield, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday May 24, 2006, at her residence.She was born January 28, 1912, in Morgan County, Kentucky, and was the daughter of the late Rubin and Mary Burton Bradley.Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bill Charles on August 9, 1998; one son, Homer McClain, and two sisters, Edna Perry and Gladys Baldridge.
She is survived by one son Gene McClain of Danville, Indiana; two stepsons, Winford Charles and His wife Carol of Clearfield, Kentucky, who cared for Lorene for several years, and Donald Charles of Montezuma, Indiana; one stepdaughter Blandena Reynolds of Tazewell, Tennessee; nine grandchildren; several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Charles was a homemaker and especially enjoyed the outdoors and working in flowers.She was a former employee of Cowden Manufacturing Company and attended the Upper Dry Creek Church of God.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2006, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Gary Madden and Brother Don Rivers officiating; burial will follow in New Alfrey Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Jeff Charles, Randy Sholars, Justin Perry, John Meade, Richard Mains, and Caleb Craft.Visitation is after 6 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
NOTE: She appears to have been married to a McClain prior to Bill Charles, also wanted to note that Cowden Manufacturing was a sewing factory, pay was based on production this Sewing Factory was located in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky which consisted of a 45 minute drive one way.
