I have a document from the DAR (found in the NC Genealogy Library) that says that General Braxton Bragg never had children as well.Braxton's brother John did had a son named Braxton.John moved from NC to Alabama to practice law - becoming a US Representative and Justice on the AL Supreme Court.General Braxton later moved to AL to live with his brother. Perhaps Braxton, the son of John, is the Braxton you're descended from.This would make you as related to the General as anyone can be, assuming he had no children.

The DAR document has a lot of information on Braxton's parents and his sibling, including most of their children.I can provide more, if you want.
