I have some information on this couple.Edward Sutton Bragg was born 5 Sep 1822 in Culpeper County, son of Joseph Bragg and Triphena Poe.He died 13 Dec 1898 in Braxton County.
He was first married about 1849 to Elizabeth Glendenning and had several children:
1. George A. born about 1851
2. Joseph J. born 2 May 1854
3. Thomas G. born 23 Mar 1857, died 12 Mar 1929
4. Mary C. born 23 Apr 1860
5. Triphena born about 1864
6. John C.B. born about 1867
All but George were born in Taylor County.I have found no record for George. Joseph, Thomas, and Mary are listed in the birth records of Taylor County. Triphena and John had to be born there as well, but I could not locate any record.
At some point prior to 21 Jul 1879 Edward and Elizabeth were divorced (I could not locate a divorce decree)as he remarried that date to Permelia S. Alkire in Braxton County.
Elizabeth lived with her son John until her death on 11 Mar 1914 in Taylor County. She is found there in the death record. Her place of burial is unknown. Her birthdate was 15 Sep 1832 in Monongalia County.
Edward and Permelia had no children together. She was born 5 Nov 1818 in Lewis County and died 3 Jul 1898 in Braxton County. Edward and Permelia are buried in the Alkire/Bragg cemetery in Braxton County, which is very close to the Lewis County line.
