Re: Richard Bevan Braithwaite, philosopher, 1900-1990
I know this is a few years after your post, but RBB was my great uncle.I last saw him at his 90th birthday in Cambridge. My grandfaher (Charles Morland Braithwaite) was his brother. They also had a sister (Constance) who was an academic in Newcastle and never married. All of them were Quakers, although Constance I remember as being on the slightly militant fringes!! Constance aslo lived into her 90's but I'm not sure how old my grandfather was, only that I was 18 when he passed.
The family as a whole has strong Quaker connections, able easily to trace back to the very inception of the movement.
I could find out more, as there is a comprehensive book detailing that side of the family and known as "The Wilson Pedigree".My father and older brother have copies, but they are both still in England, whereas I moved to New Zealand some years ago.
