Diana,Thank you for such a quick reply.The reason I think that Paul Brake is of English decent is that I have a 1900 Census for Dow City Iowa that Lists his son Edwin Reed Brake and one of the questions on the Census asks where the father was born and it has Canada/English. It also says that themother was bornCanada/French.I hope that this helps.Susan
