Hi Candace,
I've found a couple of references stating that Norton and Taunton were once one and the same, Taunton being the original name. Do you know if that is the case? It would mean that we are all descendants of Taunton Bramans but still won't anwer the real question.
I've been juggling names and dates around like crazy the last week and I'm thinking that Betsy's and my stonewall Daniel could well be a son of Nathaniel or grandson of Daniel II.
We know that of THOMAS & HANNAH'S children
THOMAS b.~1686 died before his father and there is no reference to him or his offspring (if any) in Thomas Sr.'s will
DANIEL b.1688 married and died in Norton
(I don't know what became of his son THOMAS b.1716; another candidate for father of Dan'l b.1745)
NATHANIEL b.1694/5, no info. I found a Nathaniel Braman b. ~1741 in Hartford (brother of Dan'l b.1745??) and a Nath'l Braman who m. Ann Brace at W.Hartford in 1771. (We also have a Leonard Braman marrying there in 1792)
JOSIAH b,1705, moved to Attleboro MA; m. Mary Jillson 1729, known children are James, Mary and Susan.
Daniel b. 1745 m. Abigail Pearson,b. 1744 Windsor CT. Son Uzziel was born there 1776/7. Windsor is, I believe, in Hartford County...thereby, this would be the Daniel Braman on the 1800 CT Census index along w/ Nathaniel, Thomas, Thomas Jr., Leonard and Paul. I am betting that Thomas, Nathaniel and Daniel are brothers; Paul and Leonard probably are descendents James of New London.
If we keep throwing ideas at it,we'll crack this wall yet. Thanks for the info. -b
