Re: Indiana Desc. of Wm.Bramblette
I am a cousin, the descendant of Leanna E. Bramblett and Uriel Burroughs through their daughter, Margaret Catherine "Kit" Burroughs Young. I was delighted to find your posting, as until then, Leanna was the furthest back I had been able to find information on the Bramblett line. You opened up the WORLD of Bramblett to me. Since then, I have visited the other sites dedicated to the Bramblett descendants of William. I thank you profusely!
My lines of interest to you are displayed as follows. They are all related to the Leanna Bramblette/Uriel Burroughs lines of descent:

I also have information on the VanNuys family of which George T. Young's mother, Mary (Polly), was a descendant, Sharps, of which Arthur Galbraith's mother, Mary was a member
and on back from there, in some family trees. Let me know what, if any information is new or of interest to you. I have no children, and without descendants, all this will go to waste if I cannot share it! I am delighted to make contact woth others who might care.
I have quite a bit on the Young family, mostly due to Aunt Nora's DAR connections. I saw her once, shortly before her death at a fmily reunion, and I remember the occasion well for such a very young child. I thought, "This woman is older than GOD!" The Youngs still own the ancestral homeplace in Hawkins County, Tennessee, and in three generations, my branch has made pilgimages there: Aunt Nora and Aunt Lynn went in the 1920's, and collected family information in a blue theme book, which she gave to Grandma and I now hold. Grandma and her sisters, Catharine and Edith went in the 1960's and I have photographs of them under the famous family boxwoods, brought from Scotland by Caroline Walker Young. I have been there on two occasions, and am in contact with the present owners of the homestead.Theboxwoods almost all died out in a blight a few years back, but my cousin frances and her husband Vincent have resurrected them from a slip of the one survior, and I now have a fledgeling boxwood from the original trees wintering in my kitchen.
I am also quite an expert on the Endicotts, of interest to Burroughs descendants because Emma Jane who was the third and most prolofoc wife of John Henry Burroughs (and your ancestor, if I have your line right) was the sister of my great-grandfather James Doras Endicott, who married Cornelia Catharine Young, Kit and George Young's daughter and Leanna Bramblett's granddaughter.
I have pictires of the Youngs of Boone County, Indiana at a reunion in the early 1920's, a treasured, if faded portrait of Kit that used to hang in my Grandma (Jessie Iro Endicott) Swiggett's house, above a sidetable that Grandma handed down to me from her "Grandma Kit". These are precious heirlooms. I have a few snapshots from the Burroughs side.
In December 2003, my husband and I relocated to Jessamine Co., KY (Nicholasville) just outside Lexington, and much of my genealogy "stash" was packed until about a week ago, when I unearthed a few things and went back on "the hunt".
I am currently looking for work, so I have limited time to spend on this endeavor, but would welcome correspondence with the bramblett/Burroughs cousins, and would be happy to send photo files in whatever format you might like. Let me know, and then be patient, but don't hesitate to "nag gently" if I am not prompt enough.
