This is from a letter sent to me by from mysister-in-law. who is is doing research on our family. They came from the Castlebellingham,County Louth area of Ireland in 1840-50.

William James Branigan’s father was also William
William James Branigan was married to Frances Cound born in Trewern,(county Glamorganshire?),Wales. They were married in Davenport and migrated to Texas in 1889. Francis Anne’s family migrated to Archer Co. and they are buried there. William James and Frances Anne had Herbert Thomas and Sidney. A young male child, name unknown, died at the age of six.
Photo's of graves sent by a lady in Davenport show their graves deteriorating and in need of help. There is also a nun by the name of Branigan buried there. We are told the people at the church are most willing to help there if you have specific questions.
All record's in Ireland in that area (County Louth) were burned in 1912. There is no specific place to go to except old church records and any other records that might remain. People were buried on top of each other and stones were re-used, so the search bogs down.
We are told that the only way to solve the puzzle was to go over there and research yourself or hire someone to do it for you. The fees are reasonable, but you must know what you want, not just a family name as Branigan is common over there.
