Sorry, I do not have a Mary Bresee born Oct 13, 1825, NY in my file. I have no baptism, marriage, death, or burial record for her either. The best I can do is to offer some comments which might help you in your research.
I did find William H Wicks in the 1860 census for Elba, Genesee, NY with wife named Mary E. I assume she is a Bresee. I did not find them in the 1850 census, but I did find a William H Wicks in Elba, wife Susannah. I assume these are his parents, and that by 1860, young William had moved his family close to where his parents lived.
Descendants of William H. Wicks
1 Wicks, William H. b: Abt. 1825 in NY, age 35 in 1860 Census: 1860 Elba, Genesee, NY
. +Bresee, Mary b: Oct 13, 1825 inNY d: Nov 22, 1878 in Elba, NY (Genesee) m: Mar 28, 1847 in Village of Pine Hill, NY (Orleans), NY Census: 1860 Elba, Genesee, NY
... 2 Wicks, Ellen A b: Abt. 1848 in NY, age 12 in 1860
... 2 Wicks, Charles D b: Abt. 1855 in NY, age 5 in 1860
... 2 Wicks, Lloyd A b: Abt. 1858 in NY, age 2 in 1860
Just a few notes. There were no Bresee families living in the Orleans or Genesee county areas that I am aware of. There were a few Bresees in the Niagara County area, but my information on them is very sketchy.
In the other direction, there were Bresees in Monroe and Ontario counties, and along the Mohawk valley. Most early Bresees were in the Columbia county and surrounding areas.
Someone suggested that William's grandparents were Isaac and Esther, and that Isaac came from Hudson via Montgomery county. They suggested you look for Isaac in the area of the Mohawk Valley, and then look for any Bresees by any spelling who were nearby. Perhaps the families traveled west together.
That's the best advice I can offer for now.
Bruce
