I have just discovered that my gg grandmother was Elizabeth Briggs and married my gg grandfather Thomas Earnshaw on 8th Aug 1863 in Lister Hills Chapel Bradford. Elizabeth was 20, and so bord about 1843. Her father's name was John Briggs. Both gave their address as Denholme. both the bride and groom and the two fathers gave their occupation as Worsted Weaver. By 1881 census Thomas Earnshaw was living in Luddenden as a Worsted Weaver overlooker. My confusion to date was that his wife (Betty) and her father John Sunderland were there and so I had presumed that my gg grandmother was Sunderland. It now transpires that this was a second wife (m 1872) and so Elizabeth had died between 1869 (birth of 4th child) and 1871.
