Thank you for the posting you gave on the Wright family.Unfortunately, the author appears to be relying on Charles Hoppin's works and there are errors in Hoppin's materials.
For example, the posting has 1806 (year of death) William Wright of Fauquier County, Virginia, (place of death) as the son of 1792 John Wright of Fauquier County, Virginia, and Elizabeth (Bronaugh) (Darnall) Wright and born in 1740 in York County, Virginia. That birth date is correct, but 1740 was too late a birth date for 1806 William Wright to be the William Wright who was the son of 1792 John Wright. In 1751 John Wright gave his son William land in Prince William County which was described as land on which William Wright then resided.1806 William Wright was only 11 years old at that time and could not be the same William Wright as the person named in the gift deed.Similarly, in 1751 Mary Grant was listed as married to William Wright of Prince William County.Again, 1806 William would only have been 11 years old at that time and so could not be the William Wright who married Mary Grant.
The numerous postings of 1806 William Wright as the son of 1792 John Wright all derive from Charles Hoppin's work or are simply copies of other postings that relied on Charles Hoppin. The internet has caused these postings to be repeated time and time again.
I saw no documentation in the posting for the listing of William Wright as the father of 1690 Francis Wright of Lancaster County, Virginia. That may well be the case, but we need to find documentation to support the identification. That documentation may be out there, but I just have not yet seen it.Any help you can give on finding such documentation would be much appreciated.
And thanks for your address.I am forwarding materials to you today on 1690 Francis Wright of Lancaster County.
