I am a Duncanville native too.More importantly, I think we're related!Hattie Caroline and James Thomas are my g-gps too!:)
Their son "Thurston" is actually James Thurston Scott, my g-gf. (born 8 Aug 1905 and died 13 Apr 1983).I remember going to visit him in the nursing home on Camp Wisdom Rd. shortly before his death.I was not quite six when he passed and all I remember of my visits was that my grandmother would take me to Braum's across the street.Nothing of note to remember other than he was a member of the Duncanville Volunteer Fire Department in his younger days.
Here is the family history for my end.James Thurston married Emma Lou McMackin (born 27 July 1915, died 20 May 1990) and they had two daughters. They are both still living, so I won't publish there names here.My grandmother is the younger of their two girls. She married in the early 50s and had five children, four of whom are living. My mother is the 2nd oldest of that bunch.
I am hitting a road block too with regards to James Thomas. My grandmother seems to think James Thomas was adopted by an uncle and that's where he picked up the Scott surname. It would have had to been his mother's brother, since that is the only uncle that would have a different last name.
Anyway, I can't seem to access you e-mail info through the site, but I would love to "talk" with you.My public e-mail account is firstname.lastname@example.org.
