I may have corresponded with you in the past, but I had a computer crash a while back, and my past emails were lost.
I am still searching for the parents of my 4th great grandmother Elisabeth Briggs (1784-1871) who married William Lindsay (1777-1841) in Stokes Co. in 1807. Do you suppose she could fit into your line anywhere?
William was the son of Judge Robert Lindsay (c.1735-1801) who had a 2,000 acre plantation on Deep River, where Guilford County was founded, and his second wife Ann "Nancy" McGee (1754-1832) a daughter of Col. John McGee (d.1773). There were eight children born to Robert & Ann, and William was the third.
William and Elisabeth Briggs Lindsay had eight children: Guilianna Lindsay Field (my line), William Pinckney Lindsay, Dr. Robert C. Lindsay, John Henry Lindsay, Lavinia Lindsay Saunders, Amanda Lindsay Ross Armfield, Sarah Lindsay Henley, and Dr. Andrew D. Lindsay.
After William's death, Elizabeth moved to the part of Stokes county that later became Kernersville, Forsyth Co., where she lived until her death in 1871.
I'd appreciate any information you could give me on the Briggs family from this area.
