Richard Parsons after choosing him as her guardian following the death of her Brother George and her uncle John Wright who had been her previous guardians and both presumably died. There was a George Briggs listed as son of Henry Briggs Sr (on line) Henry was said to be b. in England and d. in Surry Co VA m. Mary Flood/Ford Washington 1661 Surry Co VA, possibly dau of John Flood. Henry Sr and Mary's ch: Mary, Henry II b. 1662 m 1 ---Howell, 2 Elizabeth Lucas.

If, 1695,say, he could be son of George and have a George of his own, and daughter Lydia, before dying young, or was his death documented or just assumed? There is a George Briggs in an online record of a 1735 sale of land by the Nottoway Indians to a group of white settlers whose Interpreter was George Briggs. He later bought land there No. of the Nottoway River. A George Briggs is mentioned there until 1740 or later and he or another George Briggs said to have died in 1790s. Howell Briggs was possibly son of Henry II and therefore George's nephew. Have you seen a will for this Gaorge?
A 1743 indenture between George Briggs and Howell Briggs Albemarle Parish Surry Co VA says George's wife was Sarah.
A 1759 Sussex Co record says George Briggs had a son Charles. There's moredetail online . I just searched on George Briggs, genealogy, va. I don't really have a handle on these Georges yet. Whet are your thoughts? Fay
