Thank you for the information that two John Briggs came to RI. It has been quite confusing. I don't know if this will help you but I have this information from my uncle(now deceased so I can't ask for more info). He had that John Briggs and his wife Frances came to East Greenwich, Kent County, Rhode Island. They had a son Richard (b.Feb.1,1675, d.1733). Richard married Susannah Spencer on Dec.23,1700 and they had eight children. After Susannah's death Richard married Experience Tarbox about 1725. Richard and Experience had four children. I don't have the names Richard's children except for a son Daniel(b.Mar. 29,1730, d.1820). Daniel's mother was Experience Tarbox. Daniel married Elizabeth Spencer, daughter of Thomas, on Jan.17,1754 in East Greenwich. Also there is a Briggs Farm on the National Register in East Greenwich, RI. It says the farm went from Enghlishman, John Briggs to his son Richard and to Richard's son John Briggs II. Google Richard Briggs (1675-1733). You should see Ledge Ends Produce, click on it and you should see Farm History.
