I have no records, but Louisa Looney Brigham (b. 1811), who married Jesse Edwards, is reported to have been the daughter of William Brigham (1776-1849) and Jean Willson (1791-1860), by several sources, including a chart of descendants of William Brigham prepared by Mary Richardson Ellis (and others), and by a letter of James Brackin Brigham, Nashville, TN, to J.E. Brigham, Wichita Falls, TX, dated Aug. 20, 1919: "Following James Brigham is the youngest son, William Brigham, born July 24th, 1776, who worked at the Cumberland Furnace (Iron Works) in Dickson County and who acquired a negro man and a negro girl in 1808 and 1809, the bills of sale of which are still on hand.He killed a bear in the Well's Creek Valley about this time and bought the Brigham Farm about 1810, built a log house and having married in the meanwhile, his daughter Louisa was born pretty soon."A family Bible said to trace to William Brigham existed, but I have been unable to determine its present whereabouts. You might also contactNancy Merrill Sayed,NSayed6266@aol.com, another descendant of your Louisa Looney Brigham (there were several, named after William's mother, Louisa Looney.
I am attempting to collect and chart the extended Brigham family of Tennessee, and do not as yet have any information concerning descendants of Louisa Looney Brigham and Jesse Edwards.I would appreciate receiving whatever data you can send me, especially a gedcom.
