BRIGANCE Surname DNA Project begun!
[The below is a message I wrote to the BRIGANCE Forum. Since at least in some cases the surname BRIGANCE and BRIGHAM were synonymous, I am posting it here as well. I don't really intend to conduct a full BRIGHAM Surname DNA Project in its own right, but do encourage those BRIGHAMs who do (or think they might) descend paternally from BRIGANCE to participate. Any Brigham is welcome to join, since there is no BRIGHAM Project (as far as I can tell).]
Hi Folks,
I have just started the BRIGANCE Surname DNA Project at FamilyTreeDNA. The Project will be an excellent opportunity to have an unbiased witness (mother nature) make testimony as to whether the pedigrees we have created are correct.
DNA is not the be-all and end-all. It is, however, an excellent tool by which to learn much about Brigance genealogy. Each man is carrying around a version of a little family Bible in each of his cells. So why not open that family Bible up and read it?
Be the first on your block, & &c. :)
To come on board, go to:
http://www.ftdna.com/http://www.ftdna.com/
...and in the "SEARCH A DNA PROJECT" box in the upper righthand corner, put the name Brigance in there and hit the search button. That will load a page with the link to click to order the kit and join the Project.
Please help the project by recruiting your male Brigance cousins to participate.
Best,
Gregg Bonner
