I think Lewis Bright is son of Albertis Bright (Brect) and not in our family. I also wonder if Thomas Bright's wife was a Cherokee? I don't know where in KY the Maggards were for 10 years before moving to Randolph Co.MO, but will be looking. I read somewhere that the Thomas Bright listed in MD Rev. War died early, so is not mine.
I did find an interesting tidbit: Thomas Bright, son of John Bright of St. Mary's Co.MD had siblings BASIL and John Baptist Bright. They were baptised by the Jesuits there. (No mention of dates) But I did find query about John or James Bright marrying Elizabeth Burroughs in St. Mary's Co. in 1794. This couple moved to KY and had daughter who married Henry C.TRUEMAN.A lot of people moved to St. Mary's for safety in this time frame, and would have had to accept Catholic aid, regardless of religion?
The James Bright Sr. with wife Elizabeth died 1732. So there must be another generation in between him and Thomas and James generation. It could be another James with wife Elizabeth. What do you think?
If only there was a known child other than Susan for Thomas. . .Your e-mail as I have it didn't work, but I'm VERY NEW at this.
Would you believe I used to be an English teacher. My husband is retired from Navy and a son from the Air Force. Another in Navy for 8 years-fabulous education and Beruit excitent enough for a lifetime. Your cousin, Pat
