Terrie, Was John Anselm's mother a Monarchy or Monica?? Do you have anything on a Lewis Bright as a brother? I am wondering if Lewis, too, was a ward of Mark Brewer who moved to Hardin Co. about 1805.Possibly from Mark Brewer's marriage to Monarchy Bright in Washington Co., KY.Lewis Bright is not listed in 1810 or 1820 Census, but is listed in the 1815 Tax list.He is the only Bright listed in Hardin Co. from 1793-1836 (listed as Lewis Brigh).
My reason for asking; Lewis Bright m. Elizabeth Jenkins in Hardin Co., KY on 20 Aug 1819.Surety Ignatius Jenkins."Authority: by consent of parties".(suggesting they were both of age)A. Ganihl(minister-a Catholic priest who served the mission St. Clare Church).
Mark Brewer is my ancestor--a couple times over through children of two of his marriages.I am trying to account for the children in census records and think maybe his stepchildren came to Hardin Co. with him. I also have Jenkins ancestors and think maybe Elizabeth is a sister or niece of my ancestor, John Jenkins.
