I will answer your questions as best I can! The John Bright who had a wife named Elizabeth in the marriages is the same John Bright who had Ignatious, etc. Here are some notes I have for him.
Took oath of allegiance before Richard Barnes in 1778. His known children were baptized by the Jesuits.John B. Bright took Oath of Allegiance before Richard Barnes in 1778(Subscribers to the Oath of Allegiance)R 929.37524 074C 1995.Bounty Land and Pension Applications 57
From Capt.Cawood's Co:Privates:John Bright Was in the St. Mary Co. Militia in 1794 (from "Catholic Families of Southern Maryland" by O'Rourke,Timothy ,printed 1985) DAR lib. at HPU Baptized by the Jesuits on 10/16/1778
My John and James Bright who went to Indiana were not Catholics. There were definately several different families of Brights in Maryland.
Very possibly the John Baptist listed above is the son of John Bright 1678 in England. OR possibly his grandson considering the dates. The marriage record I found for Rebecca Elizabeth Bright did not list the grooms name. Weird though that is! I have several Charles Brights but none born that early. It would be nice if we could keep this discussion going. Anyone care to join in?
