Death of Mr. C. B. Bright (died 17 May 1896
"Mr. C.B.Bright, an aged and respected citizen of the Thickey Mountain neighborhood, died last Friday afternoon, of a com plication of diseases. Bright was about seventy years of age. He was reared in the neighborhood in which he died. Interment took place Saturday afternoon at Macedonia Church. Deceased leaves six children and a host of friends to mourn his departure."
That would make him born @ 1826 which fits with the 1880 US Census which gives date of 1824.
The easiest way is to go to Rootsweb.com and click on Message Boards and type in (or look for) SC, Spartanburg-L Archives.
I used www.google.com and typed in under "advanced search" "exact phrase" - C.B. Bright - Of course there a lot of funny entries, but keep scrolling down until you see the one above - there is a lot more info on there for Brights.
