about the History of Startex and Tucapau, SC It was a mill town. The "History" mentions a Jack Bright "May 9, 1894"
There is a reunion on April 16, 2005 - you might want to check it out.
Did Eli Bright work in the mill as a young man? It is possible...he probably went to school there and Church there. One Church often mentioned in on-line records is the Tucapau Baptist Church...they may have a cemetery connected to the Church and Eli Bright may be buried there.
Tucapau is a Bantu word from Africa and means "we give it to you." Isn't that great! I saw that under a site called Place Names in South Carolina -
Hope you have fun looking for Eli and his wife and children. Maybe this will give you a start-up! this is not my branch of Brights - so don't have any other information.
