Jean Coleman, Thank you for the info. However, I am positive there is several mistakes in it. Number one Dr. Ira and Fleta were never in Ohio as Don Giddens states. They lived in Mississippi. They also had a son named Ira. Fleta's mother was my ggrandma. Martha Jane Paul Giddens and she was married to my ggrandpa JAmes Thomas Giddings/Giddens. He was an egineer on the the RR,(I have the name of the RR somewhere.)They were the parents of my grandpa Thomas S. Giddens. James Thomas Giddings/Giddens was making the runs from Canton into New Orleans when he contacted Yellow fever and died with in a few day afterward. In 1858.This info can be found in the commonwealth paper in Canton. I have sevarl old letters written by Grandpa's half sisters. They were Jessie whom married a Bacon, Fleta Bright, Saddie, I can't remember her husbands name, Polly Edna whom never married and taught school in New York. She was is also buried in Greenwood. I think also that William J. and Martha had several children whick died in infancy. I also think MArtha and JT Giddings/Giddens had a little girl which died in Canton around the time her father did. From burns. She was born in GA. and died in MS. Martha Jane Paul was not married to a Hardeman Giddens. I wonder whom put that in. Her husband JT Giddens had been married once before and had a son William by his first wife Lucy Hobbs. Do you know of anyway I can get that corrected? MArtha and William J. Taylor raised my Grandpa Thomas S. Giddens. We have old letter from James Thomas Giddens to wife Martha Jane when grandpa was a baby, just a few months before they moved to MS. from Georgia. James Thomas died when grandpa was 2-3 years of age. I really apperciate what you sent and need all the info I can get.
