I am descended from Caleb Bright born March 16, 1800 in Pasquotank County, North Carolina. Died October 10, 1864 in Tremont, Tazewell County, Illinois. Buried in the Antioch Cemetery, Tremont, Tazewell County, Illinois. Married Keziah Bennet October 20, 1825 in Gainsville, Clinton County, Ohio. (She is the daughter of Timothy Nathaniel Bennet and Elizabeth Hoblit.) This information compares favorably to the subject of your message.
I have found at least 5 genealogies on the internet linking this same Caleb Bright as a son of a Caleb Bright who was born before 1749 and had 6 children, including Abbie, Caleb, and Armstrong Bright. The Caleb Bright who was born before 1749 also died about 1780. August 17, 1780 records have the 3 children known as Abbie Bright, Caleb Bright and Armstong Bright listed as orphans.
Obviously, if the Caleb Bright born before 1749 died before or in 1780, he could not have been the father of my Caleb Bright who was born in 1800. Perhaps he could have been his grandfather?
