We corresponded earlier last year about Adolphus E. Bright and the Allen family connection.
Hopefully this has been cleared up for you by now, but just in case, I am posting this for you.
There were two William Brights living in Burke Co, NC in the late 1700's.How they are connected is not known at this time. There appears to be some family connection but it isn't clear how.
1) William Bright, born 9 Dec. 1798, married Elizabeth Reel
2) William Bright, born ?, died young in 1835, married Sarah Davis. His estate is represented and witnessed to by Reel's so there appears some kind of connection.
William and Sarah Davis were the parents of the Davis Bright you are referring to.Davis was born 15 Apr. 1822, Burke Co., NC. Thier daughter, Sarah "Sallie" Jane Bright was born 1828, Burke Co., NC.
Sarah Bright had a child out of wedlock with Isaac "Ike" Augustus Reel.Born 19 May 1845 McDowell Co., NC and named John Henry Reel. Isaac married 4 January 1845 to Elizabeth D. Allen, the sister of Sarah D. Allen, who married Adolphus E. Bright and moved to Arkansas.I don't know whether Ike knew Sarah Bright was pregnant at the time he married Elizabeth or not.
I don't know where Sarah Bright lived after the birth of Henry (as he was known). She did not marry George Reel until 29 August 1854 in McDowell Co., NC. They had four children together after they married.
George Reel was the son of Henry and Lois Stroud Reel.Isaac was the son of Michael and Christian Hicks Reel.Michael and Henry were brothers and Elizabeth Reel Bright was their sister.George and Isaac were 1st cousins.
